In addition to playing, they play a key role in coaching, working closely with our ladies’ team and junior squads. ​

We are excited to host Luke Grady from Australia, for the 2025 season. Luke, 20, hails from Wangaratta, Victoria, and currently plays Premier League cricket in Melbourne. He has a strong background in leadership and a passion for sports administration and coaching, which he plans to pursue further after his season in England.

​

An attacking top-order batsman and off-spin bowler, Luke is eager to contribute both on and off the field at Headley Whitehall & Bordon CC. With a deep love for cricket, shaped by his family’s long-standing involvement in the sport, he looks forward to mentoring young players and embracing the club’s culture.

BEN McHENDRIE - 2024

​

For the 2024 season, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ben "Buddha" McHendrie from Down Under. An explosive top-order batsman with the ability to strike the ball as cleanly as they come, Ben also brought sharp, pace bowling with great control over line and length. His presence on and off the field was a huge asset to the team.

Reflecting on his time with us, Ben shared:

"Ben here, all the way from South Australia! I was absolutely thrilled to be given the opportunity to join the club last year. After a short chat with Keith and Ryan, it was an easy decision to make the trip to Hampshire.

After a few years away from the game, my passion and hunger for the sport I love had never been greater."

Beyond his contributions on the pitch, Ben played a key role in coaching our Ladies' and Junior teams, showing real dedication to their development. His commitment to improving skills and fostering growth each week was truly appreciated by everyone at the club.

​​ALEX WENBAN - 2023

​

In the 2023 season, we were fortunate to have Alex Wenban join us from Australia. A talented all-rounder, Alex brought a dynamic presence to the team with his skillful batting, reliable bowling, and sharp cricketing mind. His impact, however, extended far beyond match days—he played a pivotal role in the development of our club, most notably in launching our Ladies' cricket team.

Reflecting on his time with us, Alex shared:

"Coming over to the UK was an incredible experience, and from the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed into the club. Being part of the squad was fantastic, but what really stood out for me was helping to get the Ladies’ team up and running. Seeing their progress throughout the season was hugely rewarding, and I’m proud to have played a role in creating opportunities for more people to get involved in the game."

Alex’s dedication to coaching and mentoring was evident throughout the season. Whether working with the junior squads or inspiring the next generation of female cricketers, his enthusiasm and commitment made a lasting impact on the club.
